SEAS Ph.D candidates receive ARCS Foundation awards

On Thursday, October 15, three SEAS doctoral students received ARCS Foundation awards from the Metropolitan Washington Chapter at its 2015 Scholar Awards Reception.

Colin Parker (Ph.D. candidate, MAE) was named the McNichols Foundation Scholar; Sarah Pickus (Ph.D. candidate, MAE) and Ahsen Uppal (Ph.D. candidate, ECE) were named Chapter Scholars. SEAS Dean David S. Dolling presented the awards and also spoke on GW’s unique research capabilities and students, as well as innovation, development, and the STEM pipeline at GW. 

The ARCS Foundation advances science and technology in the United States by providing financial awards to academically outstanding U.S. citizens studying to complete degrees in science, engineering, and medical research.
